South West Hereford Breeders clean up at Bath & West Show

Congratulations to R & V Mitchell, Lanscombe Herefords
Bath & West Show 2014 was won by Lanscombe 1 Maxamillion (pictured above far right and on Breeders Page). Reserve Breed Champion was Nicholashayne 1 Kite (second right) who also won the Pairs with Lanscombe 1 Oliver. Les Gould won the Cow class (Centre held by Grand daughter Jo) and 
and Isobel Jennings the 2013 heifer class.(second left). Les Goulds calf held by Katherine Bigwood.


Congratulations to Lanscombe Herefords
07/12/13 Nation Christmas Calf Show. Lanscombe Herefords took the Commercial Heifer or Steer by a registered Hereford Sire with a steer named Polo and sired by Brangwyn 1 Emperor. Judge David Bell, commented that "Polo was a powerful and impressive beast and would take some stopping in any commercial class." Lanscombe 1 Orkney came 7th out of 17 in his class also sired by Brangwyn 1 Emperor. Orkney has since been purchased by Dendor Herefords. 

Caldicutt and Barclay Cup Winners
Nicholashayne 1 Kite (pictured) won the Caldicutt Cup for most points gained during the 2013 showing season. Bred by Keith Prettejohn and Angela Kerslake. Lanscombe 1 Oliver won the Barclay Cup for opposite sex to winner, bred by Roger Mitchell.

Congratulations to Alanna Herefords
12/10/13 Autumn Show & Sale - Hereford. Messrs. W. & R. Kemp & Sons, Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham saw their Superior Carcase Sire, 19 month old Auckvale Jag (890 kgs) sell for 4,500 gns. He has Terminal Sire and Self Replacing Indexes in the top 1% of the Breed. 

"Jag", (pictured left) Male Champion at the Northumberland County Show and by the home-bred bull Auckvale Broadside, was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. A. Miller, Alanna Herefords, St. Austell, Cornwall.
